Ethan A. Rossi, PhD

Dr. Rossi joined the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in August of 2016 and is the director of the Advanced Ophthalmic Imaging Laboratory at Pitt. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Dr. Rossi was a research associate in the Advanced Retinal Imaging Alliance at the University of Rochester. Dr. Rossi did his postdoctoral training in the laboratory of David Williams at Center for Visual Science at the University of Rochester. He received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009 where he was trained in Austin Roorda’s laboratory. Before Berkeley, Dr. Rossi was at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco, where he was a research assistant for Joel M Miller and Alan Scott. Dr. Rossi received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in 2001 where he majored in Brain & Cognitive Sciences and received a research Minor from the Center for Visual Science under the mentorship of Walt Makous.
